Jeep reveals Renegade and Compass Night Eagle editions

A black styling pack aims to give these new models a bolder look.

Jeep has introduced Night Eagle to its Renegade and Compass — a trim level which gives the models a darker look.

The Renegade and Compass are Jeep’s two smallest models – sitting beneath the rugged Wrangler off-roader and Grand Cherokee SUV in the American manufacturer’s range.

Night Eagle grade is based on the mid-spec Longitude trim level on both cars — though adds more equipment. There’s the addition of a gloss black to its 18-inch alloy wheels, front grille, fog light surrounds and exterior badging.

The gloss black theme also continues on the inside, with models also coming with dark upholstery, while metallic paint is a no-cost optional extra.

The Renegade is offered with a choice of a 118bhp 1.0-litre petrol engine, a 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel unit (both paired to six-speed manual gearbox) along with a 148bhp 1.3-litre petrol engine, which comes paired to a six-speed automatic transmission.

As for the Compass, it’s available with a 138bhp 1.4-litre petrol engine, the aforementioned 118bhp 1.6-litre diesel and a 138bhp 2.0-litre diesel unit with four-wheel-drive.

Both models are available now, with prices starting from £23,445 on the Renegade, and £27,230 on the Compass. This makes the trim £1,000 and £2,000 more expensive, respectively, than the Longitude trim level on each model.

As with the rest of the Jeep range, the Night Eagle comes with a five-year warranty, three years free servicing and five years of roadside assistance.
