Drivers who fancy unleashing their inner Hoonigan or just simply owning a piece of modern motorsports history could be in luck after Ken Block’s rally-spec Fiesta has been put up for sale.
Built to be used by Block for rallying, rallycross and filming the popular Gymkhana series, the car’s based on a Ford Fiesta World Rally Car created by UK racing builders M-Sport.
The same car that features in several Gymkhana videos, it can run in both rally and rallycross specification and won the 2015 Rally of Whangarei with Ken behind the wheel.
In true Block fashion, it comes with a Sadev four-wheel drive system and an uprated 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine built by French tuners PIPO instead of the usual WRC-regulated 1.6-litre engine.
600bhp and four-wheel drive
As a result, and unlike today’s WRC cars, this Hoonigan-spec Fiesta generates up to 600bhp with a tarmac-shredding 900Nm of torque, but comes with a 34mm air restrictor to limit output to 350bhp.
Other tidbits worth mentioning include M-Sport engineered ultra-long travel suspension and gravel-spec Brembo brakes, plus FIA-approved Recaro seats and an ECU that’s been mapped by Cosworth.
The transmission has also been changed and the rear differential uprated to cope with the sort of physics-bending gymnastics that Block made famous in his Gymkhana films.
Currently up for auction with an asking price of £250,000, it doesn’t come cheap, but for a car with that amount of power, capability and history it’s still a relative bargain.
