Kia has added the SUV-inspired X-Line trim level to the brand’s smallest model, the Picanto.
Available to order now, the £12,595 model offers more rugged looks for the supermini as well as lime green highlights around parts of the bodywork.
Coming with a raised ride height and slightly beefed-up body, the Picanto X-Line is an alternative take on the A-segment model and could be seen as an imposing city car.
Fitted with an 83bhp 1.25-litre petrol engine and five-speed manual gearbox as standard, customers can choose a four-speed automatic transmission for a £650 premium.
Standard exterior features include 16-inch alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna and projection headlights with LED daytime running lights and fog lamps.
Inside you will find a ‘floating’ seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Bluetooth and DAB radio, faux leather upholstery, cruise control with speed limiter, automatic air conditioning and stainless-steel pedals with rubber studs.
To make it one of the safest A-segment vehicles, the Picanto X-Line comes with multiple assistance and safety systems such as autonomous emergency braking, vehicle stability management and hill start assist. Models also come with torque vectoring control, which helps to keep the car stable through corners.
It is also quite practical for its size, thanks to a 265-litre boot, rising to a 1,010-litre rear space when the rear seats are folded down.
