Kia gives taster of upcoming ProCeed

The new shooting brake model will be inspired by the concept design revealed in Frankfurt last year and will be revealed next month.

Kia has shown off the first preview of its new ProCeed, which will be fully revealed online on September 13.

The five-door shooting brake model – a car with estate practicality and coupe looks – will merge “stunning design with the space and versatility of a tourer”, claims Kia, and will be seen in the flesh for the first time at the Paris Motor Show on October 2.

Kia says that the look of the new ProCeed is inspired by the concept model that was displayed at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show, which included the brand’s signature ‘Tiger-nose’ grille and a sleek design.

Another feature carried over from the concept is the one that was shown in the latest preview of the production version – a single light stretching across the rear-end that continues into the conventional brake light shape at either end.

The ProCeed has been a feature of Kia’s range since 2007 as a sportier version of the Ceed hatchback, with the Pro_Cee’d GT being the brand’s first hot hatch to go on sale in Europe.

As its name suggests, it is expected that this model will include features from the third generation Ceed which was released in 2017, but this is the first time the ProCeed will be designed as a shooting brake.
