Kia has a revealed a new specification for its Rio hatchback, which will make its public debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show.
The Rio GT-Line brings aesthetic changes to the supermini, such as a new ‘tiger-nose’ grille, unique 17-inch alloy wheels, ‘ice-cube LED fog lamps’, twin exhaust tips, LED daytime running lights and gloss back roof spoiler and sill highlights.
Inside the car, the upholstery is a combination of black synthetic leather and cloth with contrast grey stitching while a new leather-wrapped steering wheel is also present. A carbon fibre-effect finish has also been added to elements of the dashboard.
Powering the Rio GT-Line is a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 118bhp and 171Nm of torque. Full performance specifications have not been revealed, but as for efficiency, fuel economy is claimed at 60.1mpg with 107g/km of CO2 emissions.
Standard equipment on the new grade of the hatchback includes aluminium pedals and bi-projection headlamps than turn with the steering wheel for maximum corner visibility.
Optional equipment includes a seven-inch infotainment display that also features satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well the choice of a rear-view camera, heated steering wheel and heated seats.
Pricing for the Kia Rio GT-Line has yet to be revealed, but it’s expected to hit UK showrooms in spring 2018.
