Kia to detail all-new Sorento this week via Facebook

South Korean firm’s flagship SUV will make its full debut in European specification this week.

Kia will reveal full details of its new Sorento SUV this week via a Facebook livestream.

The South Korean firm had been due to show all at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, but the ongoing coronavirus pandemic led to the cancellation of the event earlier this month.

This new planned reveal will take place via the Kia Motors Facebook page, with proceedings kicking off at 11:30 UK time on March 19. As well as offering more details on the car, hosts on the stream are inviting questions from members of the public.

Better still, anyone who submits a question will be in the running to win a six-month subscription to Time magazine. 60 winners will be picked, judged on the quality of their questions.

Kia has already shown off the Sorento, though has yet to reveal technical and technological specifications of the car. It takes on a much more upmarket approach to design in this fourth-generation guise, with tweaked proportions for a more elegant look.

It sits on a new platform too; which Kia says can accommodate an electrified powertrain. What that will consist of exactly is surely to be confirmed in the upcoming live stream.

From what we’ve seen so far of the interior, it’s clear the Sorento will feature a cutting-edge huge touchscreen infotainment system as well as a host of premium additions. We’ll hear more specifics on Thursday.
