Kid’s car drawing made a reality

Children’s imaginations are amazing. Tell them to draw a picture of a car and their innovative, artistic prowess goes into overdrive.

After receiving an interesting sketch of a multi-coloured, futuristic car from one of our team member’s children, three year old Genevieve, we decided to get an artist on-board to bring the design to life.

The designs below give us something a little different to the usual concept cars you may be used to seeing under Motor Show spotlights, embracing a range of revolutionary style and technological ideas. We give you - the Rainbow Boat Car.

Two-tone paint jobs are growing increasingly popular. This seven-tone colour scheme is something totally original though. As well as offering a unique, eye-catching appearance, the eclectic colour palette is also evocative of change and progression. Could this be the gold at the end of the automotive rainbow?

Large panoramic glass roofs are a rather up-market feature. The inclusion of one in this design suggests that the Rainbow Boat Car could be available with a long list of luxurious equipment, such as leather-wrapped massaging seats, a chilled cooler compartment and Wi-Fi capabilities.

As you can see, all-terrain proficiency is a priority with this concept. With its 14 wheels, this car is ready to tackle a multitude of situations. When the wheels are rendered inoperable, in water for example, its turbines can thrust it forward, just like a hovercraft, offering an amphibious mode of transport.

The inevitable introduction of autonomous technology has clearly been considered by young Genevieve, with the addition of a bed in the back of the car for when the driver needs to rest. Could driverless road cars/hovercrafts be the future?
