LEGO is well-known for producing scale replicas of popular cars, but the Danish toy brand has now turned its hand to making a full-size model of the Bugatti Chiron – and you can actually drive it.
Built from more than a million LEGO Technic pieces, this incredible replica comes with an electric drivetrain made of 2,304 LEGO Power Function motors and 4,032 gears that produces 5.2bhp and 92Nm of torque.
With that power setup, the replica Chiron can get up to speeds over 12mph – which isn’t quite as fast as the production model’s 261mph, but is mightily impressive considering that this recreation doesn’t use any glue to hold it together. Only the wheels and badges aren’t made of LEGO.
It comes with a fully functioning retractable rear wing, working lights, speedometer and a removable steering wheel, and, theoretically, you could go to LEGO and ask for all the pieces to build it for yourself.
According to the toy brand, it took 13,438 hours to finish the replica.

“Our Technic designers and the engineers from the Kladno factory in the Czech Republic, the place which also builds the impressive models for LEGO Stores and LEGOLAND parks, have done an amazing job both at recreating the Chiron’s iconic shapes and making it possible to drive this model. It’s a fascinating example of the LEGO Technic building system in action and its potential for creative reinvention.”
You can buy your own 1:8 scale LEGO Technic Bugatti Chiron for £329.99 – much less than the £2.5m asking price for the W16-powered hypercar.
