LEVC’s range-extender camper set to arrive on the market this year

Camper has sleeping space for four and an in-built kitchen.

The London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) has revealed that it will be bringing its range-extender e-Camper to market this year.

LEVC - a company better known for producing the TX black cab - has called in the assistance of British camper van converters Wellhouse Leisure to help with the creation of the e-Camper. Set to start from £62,250, the camper is, according to LEVC, due to hit the road in the fourth quarter of this year.

The front end design of the camper mimics that of the regular TX taxi, with rounded headlights framing a large central grille. As it sits on the same platform as the TX, the e-Camper will utilise the same powertrain that combines an electric motor and battery with a three-cylinder ‘range-extender’ petrol engine.

The combination allows for a pure electric range of 60 miles, but the range-extender motor increases the car’s useable range to 304 miles.

The e-Camper has been fitted with all of the features that you could want from an ‘adventure’ vehicle. There’s sleeping space for four people, while an integrated kitchenette and pop-up roof have been fitted too. There’s front seats swivel around 180 degrees, while the rear bench can be slid backwards, freeing up space for a central folding table.

The rear bench also folds away to become a double bed, while the sleeping quarters for the two other people reside in the pop-up roof.

Cyclists and surfers will also be able to use the e-Camper, as it has been designed to support a range of racks and attachments. A wide palette of colours allows owners to stand out from the crowd a little further, too.
