Lotus Evora GT430 is the brand’s most powerful road car ever

The most hardcore version of the Lotus Evora, called the GT430, has been unveiled and it’s the most powerful road car the company has ever made.

Lotus has revealed its most powerful road car to date, the Evora GT430. It is priced at £112,500, making this Lotus a little more expensive than a Porsche 911 GT3.

Not only does it have more power than other versions of the Evora, the GT430 also has a lighter body with extra downforce. Features like the carbon fibre splitter, large rear diffuser, the aerodynamic ducts behind each wheel and the big rear spoiler reflect the car’s super lightweight and aerodynamic approach.

Even with all the new aerodynamic parts attached, the GT430 is 26kg lighter than the Evora GT410, which was the lightest and quickest Evora until now.

Weighing just 1,258kg in total, the Evora GT430 is equipped with a 3.5-litre supercharged V6 petrol engine like other versions of the Lotus sports car. In the GT430 the power output has been pushed to 430bhp and a six-speed manual gearbox is also used as standard.

The GT430’s 0-62mph sprint time is just 3.8 seconds, which is more than half a second quicker than a Porsche Cayman GT4 and a tenth of a second ahead of the latest 911 GT3 with its manual ‘box.

Those seriously interested in this new Lotus will have to act fast though, since only 60 examples of the GT430 are due to be sold.
