Mazda has announced it is introducing more personalisation to the MX-5 range with two new accessory packs.
The Japanese carmaker is known for offering a broad range of options for its roadster – most notably with regular special edition models – but now owners of the standard MX-5 can also benefit.
The ‘Cup’ and ‘Design’ packs are available at Mazda dealers across the country and can be fitted to any version of the fourth-generation MX-5, whether that is a brand new model or one that’s several years old.
Those looking for more sportiness should pick the £1,995 Cup back. This adds black 17-inch BBS alloy wheels, an Eibach suspension lowering kit and a stainless steel exhaust. This new exhaust gives the MX-5 a more raucous-sounding exhaust note, although Mazda says it has no impact on refinement.
See Available Mazda dealsOn top of the Cup upgrade, buyers can also choose the Design Pack, which costs £4,675. This comes with a full bodykit with gloss black details. It also brings Alcantara trim to the cabin.
The option packs are available on MX-5s fitted with both engines – either the 130bhp 1.5-litre unit or the 181bhp 2.0-litre unit. However, the 17-inch BBS alloy wheels can only be fitted to the more powerful model.
The standard MX-5 costs from £19,495, with the larger engine starting from £22,795.
To celebrate the MX-5’s 30th birthday, there is also an Anniversary model available now, too. This starts from £28,095, and comes in a vibrant Racing Orange colour, along with forged aluminium alloy wheels and Recaro seats to name but a few features.
