McLaren confirms production of its most track-focused road car yet

Rumour has circled around McLaren’s upcoming hypercar– but it has finally been confirmed with this teaser

McLaren has confirmed that the next model in its ‘Track22’ business plan will be its most track-focused car yet.

The British manufacturer said the vehicle will be its most extreme and track-concentrated road car it has made.

Rumour has been circling around the car for some time, but it has just been officially confirmed with a simple teaser of three exhausts and its logo below.

McLaren also teased the car last month with a mule, disguised as a 720S, showing a central driving position with the same seating layout as the iconic McLaren F1.

The car is set to be revealed in the first quarter of next year, and will delivered ahead of another future Ultimate Series car – codenamed the BP23 – which will be a “Hyper-GT”.

Both cars will be produced in very limited numbers and all 106 available order slots have already been accounted for.

McLaren’s Ultimate Series’ cars sit at the top of its line-up and have previously included the P1 and P1 GTR.

The upcoming model will be road legal although McLaren has said that “daily usability is being sacrificed to give the most intensive driver experience around the circuit”.

The car is part of its ‘Track22’ business strategy outlining its future of profitability up until 2022.

While details remain thin on the ground about the new model, with even the car’s name being unknown, McLaren has said that further details will be revealed before the end of the year.
