A McLaren customer is soon to receive two bespoke models made by the British supercar manufacturer’s Special Operations department.

Called the MSO R Coupé and MSO R Spider, these are the latest models in a line of specially commissioned products, which includes the 2012 X-1 that was displayed at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance that year.

Both vehicles come with the same specification of dimensions and design, and feature a silver and black carbon fibre exterior body and a red Alcantara seat trim. You also find the same twin-element rear wing on both cars with orange detailing.

MSO also fits special carbon fibre parts to the front bumper, bonnet, roof scoop and rear deck, with red pinstriping adding extra definition to the body work. The cars also come with the same five-spoke black alloys.

Under the bonnet of both cars is a twin-turbocharged McLaren V8 engine that produces 679bhp.

McLaren Automotive’s executive director for global sales and marketing Jolyon Nash said: “An MSO Personal Commission is the highest level of partnership between a customer and McLaren Special Operations, undertaken to design, develop and create unique interpretations of McLaren cars, expertly tailored to meet the exact requirements of the owner.

“A typical MSO Personal Commission extends beyond paint colours and materials and finishes to encompass changes to body and interior design and also dynamic and powertrain enhancements as required. The result is a McLaren personalised by MSO to become a car that is literally one of a kind – or in the case of these stunning MSO R cars, one of a matched pair.”
