Mercedes-Benz adds new engines to E-Class line-up

The new AMG 53 and 400d engines are now available to order on the coupe and cabriolet, and saloon and estate respectively.

Mercedes-Benz has opened the ordering books for the latest versions of the AMG 53 and 400 d E-Class.

The new E 53 Coupe and Cabriolet models are fitted with a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine that is supplemented by the EQ Boost electrical system, which helps boost performance and efficiency.

With that unit fitted producing 429bhp and 520Nm of torque, both the Coupe and Cabriolet can reach an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph and accelerate to 60mph in under 4.5 seconds.

The unit is paired to a nine-speed AMG automatic transmission that offers ‘extremely short shift times’ and AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system to help performance in all conditions.

Standard kit in the E 53 models include a 12.3-inch widescreen cockpit display with a 12.3-inch infotainment display, the parking package with 360-degree camera, multibeam intelligent light system, Nappa leather upholstery, wireless charging pad, AMG ride control suspension and split folding rear seats.
