MG reveals new MG3

The brand’s latest generation of the supermini comes in three trim levels and starts from £9,495.

MG has taken the covers off its latest version of the MG3 supermini, which incorporates design features first used on the ZS compact SUV.

Supplied with a wide range of customisation options, MG states that the new MG3 is “a natural evolution” from the first model – 10,000 of which were sold in the UK after it went on sale in 2014.

Available in three trim levels – Explore, Excite and Exclusive – the MG3 starts from £9,495, with every version coming with Bluetooth as standard. Excite and Exclusive also get an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and a DAB radio, while the top-spec model gains a reversing camera.

MG claims that the MG3 has one of the largest cabins in the segment, “with class-leading head and leg room for five adults to ride in comfort”, with the model also coming with a 285-litre boot.

Daniel Gregorious, MG Motor UK head of sales and marketing, said: “The new MG3 is another example of how we’re creating fantastic value-for-money packages across the range. Our 7-year warranty, high specification, competitive pricing, strong finance offers and fantastic design really set the MG3 apart in the supermini segment.
