Mini Clubman and Countryman ranges expanded with new Shadow Edition

The special-edition brings distinctive styling and more standard equipment

Mini has introduced a new Shadow Edition to its popular Countryman SUV and Clubman hatchback.

Designed exclusively for UK buyers, the new special editions benefit from revised styling details, as well as more standard equipment, too.

All Shadow Editions come painted in a Midnight Black Metallic colour, and gain additional black styling kit which is contrasted by a silver roof and mirrors.

Based on the ‘Sport’ specification of both regular cars, the Shadow Edition comes with larger 19-inch John Cooper Works alloy wheels, along with a JCW styling kit and full LED lighting. They also feature a special graphic on the bonnet and A-pillar, while black roof rails are included as standard on the Countryman, and offered as an option on the Clubman.

Inside, the models benefit from a black headlining and additional gloss black styling, along with special tread plates.

In terms of additional standard kit, digital dials are added (not usually offered on the Clubman), while the Mini Excitement pack brings special LED interior lighting and puddle lights. A larger 8.8-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and Apple CarPlay is also included.

Both Shadow Editions are available with a choice of a 134bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine (the Cooper), along with a 175bhp 2.0-litre petrol engine (Cooper S). The Countryman is also available as a plug-in hybrid, which offers an electric range of around 30 miles.

Order books for the new models are now open, with prices starting from £26,805 for the Clubman and £28,755 for the Countryman. First deliveries are expected in April.
