Most expensive parking spaces in the UK revealed

Fancy one of the country’s most desirable locations? Well, you will need to find £350,000 if the UK’s most expensive space takes your fancy.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the space is in London, tucked behind Hyde Park Gardens, which boasts some of the most expensive property anywhere in the UK. Measuring just 19.5ft x 8ft and with no protection from the elements, this space might only be able to fit one car, but it costs one and half times more than an average home.

With an 88-year lease, great links to the M1 motorway, London Underground and new Crossrail stations, we’re in no doubt the space will be snapped up, despite costing more than most of the supercars you could park on it.

It makes the double garage on offer in Edinburgh with a starting price of £85,000 seem reasonable value. After all, it is found in the prestigious New Town area, which was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, thanks to its historic streets and Georgian architecture.

Frequent fliers might be more tempted by one of the 45 executive parking spaces been offered near Manchester Airport for £35,000 each. With enough space for a large vehicle, there’s even the option of a valet service to take clients to and from the terminal buildings, for an extra cost of course.

But, even the most expensive UK spaces don’t break world records. A parking space recently changed hands in central Manhattan, New York for $1million, while a spot in Honk Kong went for $640,000 several years ago.

Of course, you could rent a space instead, as suggested by YourParkingSpace.co.uk who came up with the list of pricey parking spots. According to the online marketplace for parking, a space near Mancester Airport costs around £100 per month.
