BMW’s flagship luxury grand tourer is getting a new limited run model named the First Edition.
Set to be launched in spring of 2019, the First Edition is builds on the M850i xDrive Coupe variant of the 8 Series, adding model-specific BMW Individual design features as standard.
Limited to just 400 examples, buyers can configure their First Edition to individual tastes, meaning this will be a a very exclusive car. Optional extras include an M Carbon roof and M Carbon exterior package.
Inside the cabin, more BMW Individual additions are present, with Merino leather and an Alcantara roof liner, the latter of which is finished in Night Blue. A Bower & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, plus a Crafted Clarity glass start/stop button are also thrown into the package, along with a Black Piano finish in the centre of the cockpit that bears the lettering ‘First Edition x/400.’

The First Edition uses the same 530bhp twin-turbo 4.4-litre V8 as the M850i, with power sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox.
No word yet on UK availability, but expect pricing are to rise above the M850i xDrive Coupe’s £97,500 starting cost.
