New Dodge Demon inadvertently leaked in new Fast and Furious video

A new promo video for the upcoming Fast 8 movie has inadvertently unveiled the new Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, two months before the car was supposed to debut.

It looks like the Hellcat is out of the bag, so to speak, after the upcoming Dodge Challenger SRT Demon has been inadvertently unveiled in a new video starring Vin Diesel.

Dodge had originally planned a twelve-week drip feed of information on the new Demon, but the video teaser for the new Fast 8 film features what appears to be two Demons in the background.

Both cars sport the Demon logo on their sides and also feature the same large bonnet scoop and widebody design of the Challenger GT Concept, which the Demon is believed to be based on.

The new Dodge Demon was officially announced last week, and it promises to be the most brutish iteration of the muscle car Dodge has ever dared to create.

Based on the 707bhp Challenger Hellcat, the upcoming Demon will get a widebody stance to accommodate much wider tyres, while four-wheel drive is also rumoured.

In terms of output, the Demon will make much more than the already unruly Hellcat models, and is mooted to produce as much as 850bhp from the Hellcat’s existing supercharged 6.2-litre Hemi V8.

Dodge says it’ll also be much lighter than the Hellcat to make the absolute most of all that power, and the Demon looks set to be the ultimate incarnation of pure American muscle.

Tim Kuniskis, Dodge’s head of passenger cars, said: “Most cars attempt to be everything to everybody. Then there are the rare few that revel in a single objective, rendering them totally irresistible to a subculture.”

Yet while the Demon’s appearance may have been spoiled thanks to Mr Diesel, you’ll still have to wait until April to find out the full spec.
