Nissan e-NV200 sales soar as electric vans increase in popularity

Small businesses are beginning to turn towards electrification to save money and improve business efficiency.

Nissan is reporting a 200 per cent increase in sales of the Nissan e-NV200 – its medium-sized electric van – so far this year.

The e-NV200, which is said to have running costs of 2p per mile and tops zero-emissions EV sales in 10 European markets, including UK, Italy, Norway and the Netherlands, suits a changing commercial vehicle market, according to Nissan.

In a survey of over 500 UK small businesses conducted by Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi, 24 per cent of firms expect van fleets to be fully electric within a decade.

Furthermore, one in three UK van fleet operators said business efficiency is their main motivation when adopting new technologies, followed by cost savings (17 per cent).

Paolo D’Ettore, director of LCV Business Unit Nissan Europe, said: “The success of the e-NV200 truly demonstrates that we have the right product at the right time.
