One millionth Nissan Juke rolls off the line in the UK

The original compact crossover has been in production since 2008 and the one millionth model was a Vivid Blue Tekna.

The Juke has become the Nissan Sunderland plant’s fourth model to be built more than one million times, with the millionth unit rolling off the production line this week.

The landmark model was fitted with the Tekna specification in the newest colour to the range, Vivid Blue, and joins the Qashqai, Micra and Primera to surpass the production milestone.

Kevin Fitzpatrick, Nissan Europe senior vice president for manufacturing, supply chain management and purchasing, said: “Reaching the one million milestone is a fantastic achievement for any model.

“Eight years ago we had never seen anything like the Juke before – it created an entirely new segment and brought a distinctive never-seen-before look to the market. Fast forward to today and we have one million customers and Juke remains the segment leader.

“It’s terrific to see that the 2018 model, with all its improvements and personalisation options, is as popular as the version that rolled off the line for the first time in 2010.”

Spanning a single generation, the eight-year production life of the Juke has included the sporty Nismo version and the limited-run Juke R, which used the same engine and running gear as the 2013 Nissan GT-R supercar.

The Juke was sold 95,000 times in 2017 across European markets.
