Skoda has announced that order books are now open for its new fourth-generation Octavia.
Available as either a hatchback or estate, the new Octavia is even more spacious than before, while it adopts a classier and more elegant look than its predecessor.
Other big changes being made on the Octavia happen are underneath the surface, with this Skoda being available with mild-hybrid powertrains for the first time, while a plug-in hybrid model will follow later this year.
And you’re now able to order a new Octavia at a Skoda dealer, with prices starting from £22,395 for the hatch and £23,370 for the estate. Initially there are just three models available – the SE First Edition, SE Technology and SE L First Edition.
Standard equipment includes an 8.25-inch touchscreen, 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless start and LED headlights. Next up is the SE Technology, which is available from £22,640 for the hatch and £23,620 for the estate. This grade adds a larger 10-inch touchscreen system, as well as front and rear parking sensors.
At the top of the line-up is the SE L First Edition, which comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and adaptive cruise control, with prices starting from £25,150 for the hatch and £26,225 for the estate.
For finance customers, Skoda is also offering a £2,000 deposit contribution and low 4.1 per cent APR rate.
The engine line-up currently consists of a 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel with outputs of either 113bhp or 148bhp. The petrol and entry-level diesel come with a six-speed manual gearbox, whereas the larger diesel gets a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
Mild-hybrid tech is being offered on the 148bhp petrol shortly, while a 108bhp 1.0-litre petrol is set to be available shortly as well. Sporty vRS models are also on the way – including a new plug-in hybrid option, along with hot petrol and diesel versions.
First deliveries of the new Octavia are expected from later this summer.
