Order books open for new Volkswagen Caddy Cargo

Models ordered before March get a range of free upgrades

Volkswagen has opened order books for its new Caddy Cargo – the firm’s most affordable van.

The new commercial vehicle aims to be a big step forward compared to its predecessors, and introduces a range of new technologies – including a digital cockpit – and range of driver assistance features.

Prices start from £17,800 (excl VAT) for the standard Commerce model, which includes a 6.5-inch touchscreen, cruise control and autonomous emergency braking.

Following this is the Cargo Commerce Plus, which costs from £19,050, adding air conditioning, a leather steering wheel and rear parking sensors. At the top of the range is the Cargo Commerce Pro, which gains a larger 10-inch touchscreen, electric folding mirrors, alloy wheels and a heated windscreen, with prices from £22,075.

You can choose it as a short wheelbase model or a longer Maxi model, while engine options include a 2.0-litre diesel available with 74bhp, 101bhp and 120bhp outputs, along with a 112bhp 1.5-litre petrol unit.

Volkswagen has also announced that any orders placed before March 31 will also receive free  upgrades. On the standard Commerce models, buyers will get a Business Pack included – bringing climate control, rear parking sensors and a Thatcham alarm. Meanwhile Commerce Plus and Commerce Pro orders will come with a free Tech Pack, adding adaptive cruise control and a reversing camera.

First deliveries are expected by March 2021.
