Peugeot 3008 triumphs at Diesel Car and Eco Car awards

The firm’s popular 3008 crossover was named Used Car of the Year.

The Peugeot 3008 has scooped the Used Car of the Year title at the Diesel and Eco Car Awards.

At the magazine’s annual ‘Used Car Top 50’ awards, the Peugeot 3008 managed to beat the other models to be crowned the Used Car of the Year, while also being awarded the Best Used Medium SUV for 2020.

Diesel and Eco Car praised the mid-size 3008 for its bold styling, unique interior, spacious boot, as well as the comprehensive range of diesel engines, with 1.5-, 1.6- and 2.0-litre engines on offer. Two petrol engines are also in the line-up, while

David Peel, managing director of Peugeot UK, said: “The 3008 SUV winning the Used Car of the Year award shows how well engineered the family SUV is, as it continues to impress UK drivers year after year with its combination of style, performance and efficiency.

“We’ve also worked hard over the years to ensure our residual values remain strong and competitive, and are seeing very healthy results across our model range.”

The 3008 wasn’t the only Peugeot to triumph at the awards, though. The brand’s RCZ was also crowned Used Sports Car of the Year, despite not being on sale for five years.

Other impressive results came from the Skoda Superb, which was crowned both Best Used Large Car and also Best Used Estate Car. The smaller Octavia was also named Best Used Medium Car, while the Ford Fiesta and Focus were named small car and medium used cars of the year, too.
