Added as a permanent trim level, it offers equipment improvements worth £1,400 on top of the Allure trim but only adds £800 to the sale price.

The French manufacturer has added better technological features, such as a seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation and TomTom live updates, as well as Peugeot Connect with SOS and Assistance. A rear parking camera and sensors are also applied.

Other additions include a glass panoramic roof with blind and an exclusive Oxford Black trim, which is paired to Peugeot’s i-Cockpit cabin setup that includes a smaller-than-average sports leather steering wheel.

The exterior shows most of the upgrades, with the Allure Premium coming with colour-matching door mirrors and handles, a rear spoiler, scuff plates, wheel arch extensions and roof bars.

The Allure Premium is available with two engines – a 1.2-litre PureTech petrol that produces 80bhp or a 98bhp 1.6-litre BlueHDi diesel unit, which comes with a £2,510 premium over the petrol.

The BlueHDi engine offers the best fuel efficiency and lowest emissions with a quoted 76.3mpg and 97g/km respectively, as well as being paired with the Grip Control adaptive drive system.

Mark Pickles, Peugeot UK Marketing Director, said: “The addition of the Allure Premium to the Peugeot 2008 SUV was a natural step after the success of the 208 Allure Premium, and offers SUV style, space and presence in a package that represents outstanding value for money.

“For a small premium over the already generous Allure specification, customers will enjoy a host of luxury and technology enhancements which make owning and driving a PEUGEOT SUV thoroughly rewarding.”

Prices for the 2008 Allure Premium start from £18,645 and it is available to order now.
