Prices and specs announced for updated 2020 Mazda 2

Mild-hybrid technology has been introduced alongside a slight facelift.

Mazda has announced that its updated 2 supermini is on sale now, with prices starting from £15,795.

The updated version features mild-hybrid technology added to its 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G petrol engine – helping to improve fuel consumption. The unit is available with power outputs of 74bhp or 89bhp, with the new tech helping to cut CO2 emissions down to 94g/km.

Styling changes include a new mesh grille – as seen on the new Mazda3 – along with a new spoiler and rear bumper, as well as revised headlights.

Mazda has also aimed to improve the interior quality with new trims and materials, while more supportive seats are also fitted. Improved refinement and sound deadening were also a priority for Mazda. Slight revisions to the power steering also aim to enhance the drive, too.

The range starts from £15,795, with that buying you an entry-level SE L grade, which comes as standard with LED headlights, climate control, 15-inch alloy wheels and rear parking sensors.

Sport Nav (from £16,795) adds a gloss black styling kit, 16-inch alloy wheels and keyless entry, while top-spec GT Sport Nav (from £17,495) includes a head-up display, a heated steering wheel and leather seats to name but a few luxuries.
