Prices announced for new Seat Mii Electric

Seat’s first EV becomes one of the cheapest new electric cars on sale.

Seat has announced pricing for its first EV – the new Mii Electric city car.

The new Mii Electric, which replaces the petrol-powered option that has been on sale since 2012, is priced from £19,300, which includes the government’s £3,500 electric car grant.

This makes it one of the most affordable EVs on sale, while Seat has also announced that it can be financed from as little as £199 per month.

Despite its small proportions, the Mii’s 36.8kWh battery enables a claimed electric range of 161 miles, while it can be charged to 80 per cent of its capacity in an hour thanks to rapid charging capability. Using a 7.2kW home charger, it takes four hours to get to the same level.

The Mii Electric is available with just one trim level, with standard equipment including 16-inch alloy wheels, metallic paint, rear parking sensors and traffic sign recognition.

The first 300 customers in the UK will also receive a free wall box charger (usually costing up to £1,000), along with a home charging cable, three years’ free servicing and roadside assistance.

It’s also the first model to come with ‘Seat Connect’ which will be rolled out across further cars in the future. It offers remote access of the car through an app, allowing you to check that the doors are locked and even heat or cool the car before you arrive to it.

Order books for the new Mii Electric are now open, with first deliveries set to arrive in March 2020.
