Skoda has announced pricing and specifications for its new Fabia supermini, which offers a roomier interior and more technology than before.
Now in its fourth generation, the new Fabia moves to the Volkswagen Group’s latest MQB A0 platform – underpinning the latest Audi A1 and Volkswagen Polo.
Thanks to the new underpinnings, Skoda is promising segment-leading levels of interior space, with a 380-litre boot the same size as that of a Volkswagen Golf – a car in the class above. A range of new styling details give the Fabia a more modern look, while the interior gets an uplift in both quality and technology.
The engine range consists of four 1.0-litre petrol engines – two naturally-aspirated options put out 64bhp or 79bhp, while a turbocharged unit gives outputs of either 94bhp or 108bhp. A seven-speed DSG automatic also comes with the most powerful engine.
The line-up kicks off from £14,905 for a Fabia in ‘S’ trim, which comes with LED headlights, autonomous emergency braking and a 6.5-inch touchscreen included. Up next is the SE Comfort, which packs 15-inch alloy wheels, a leather steering wheel and rear parking sensors. SE Comfort starts from £16,795.
Up next is the Colour Edition, which aims to add extra style to the Fabia range through personalisation, as you’re able to choose it with a contrasting roof, mirrors and wheels, in either silver or black. It also gains a larger eight-inch touchscreen, 10-inch digital dial display and keyless entry too, with prices starting from £17,495.
At the top of the line-up, the SE L brings 16-inch alloy wheels, microfiber upholstery and a large 9.2-inch touchscreen offering additional connected services. Prices for this trim start from £18,980. Skoda has also said that a sportier-looking Monte Carlo model will follow in 2022.
Orders will open for the new Skoda Fabia on September 28, with first deliveries expected before the end of the year.
