Prices announced for stylish new Peugeot 508 SW

Peugeot’s plush estate model is now available to order now, with a plug-in hybrid version on the way.

Peugeot has announced the prices and specs for its latest estate model – the 508 SW.

The French machine is available from £26,845, with four permanent trim levels offered, alongside a limited numbers First Edition, which follows the same pattern as the four-door 508 Fastback.

Standard equipment on the Active includes Peugeot’s excellent ‘i-Cockpit’ infotainment system with a 12.3-inch digital driver display, alongside satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity, an electric driver’s seat and 17-inch alloys.

Opting for the Allure – priced from £28,145 – adds keyless entry and start, a 10-inch touchscreen, a reversing camera plus further safety equipment such as high-beam assist and blind spot monitoring.

Sporty-looking GT-Line adds full LED headlights and rear lights, along with ambient lighting for a £29,895 starting price.

The range-topping GT takes it up a notch, starting from £38,020. It adds a lot in the way of kit, though, including adaptive cruise control, a Focal sound system, 19-inch alloy wheels and full grain leather seats.

There will also be a limited-run First Edition model, which costs £40,819. On top of the GT this adds night vision technology – the first car to feature the tech in its class – which can spot pedestrians and hazards in the road up to 200m ahead of the headlights, along with a 360-degree parking camera and the ability to park itself. Just 75 of these 508s are destined for the UK.

Buyers of a petrol-powered car have the option of a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing 179bhp or 222bhp. The former will also provide the base for a plug-in hybrid, which will be offered from October.

Meanwhile, customers for a diesel can pick between a 128bhp 1.5-litre unit, or a 2.0-litre engine producing either 158bhp or 178bhp.

David Peel, managing director of Peugeot UK, said: “The all-new 508 SW will bring a unique combination of style and driving dynamics to the D-segment estate sector. We’re already seeing the 508 Fastback challenge the norm in the saloon sector, and we have the same high expectations for the 508 SW.”

The 508 SW is available to order now, with first deliveries expected from the start of July.
