Prices revealed for 2020 Nissan GT-R Nismo

The race car-inspired model goes on sale alongside a new Track Edition version.

Nissan has announced that order books are now open for its flagship GT-R – the hardcore Nismo.

Designed to top the GT-R range, the 2020 Nismo is now on sale priced from £174,995 – a sharp rise over the outgoing car’s £152,995 base price.

The Nismo is developed by the firm’s tuning arm of the same name, with the latest car coming with new turbochargers, a revised gearbox and improved brakes. Nissan has also shaved a fractional amount of weight from the car through the use of lighter components. Improved aero is also generated from louvres embedded into the wheel arches.

Nissan says the GT-R Nismo is all about perfection, which is why the model tends to benefit from a broad number of small enhancements, rather than a few large alterations.

Its 3.8-litre V6 twin-turbo petrol engine produces the same 592bhp as before, but now features a more aggressive six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and a revised titanium exhaust.

Aside from the Nismo, the GT-R range also benefits from a new ‘Track Edition’. This model is priced from £99,995 and is designed to sit in between the standard GT-R and the Nismo model. Optional extras available on it include carbon ceramic brakes (£7,500), a carbon roof (£2,000) and carbon seats (£6,500).

Nissan is celebrating 50 years of the GT-R in 2019, with the 2020 model year updates being shown at the New York International Auto Show earlier this year – including the Nismo. A 50th Anniversary Edition was also shown there, which is limited to just 50 examples in Europe, and just 18 right-hand-drive examples in the UK.

The Anniversary model comes in a striking Bayside Blue colour, along with racing stripes and 20-inch alloys.
