Pricing and specifications announced for Skoda Scala

The replacement for the Rapid will start from £16,595 and it will be offered in three trim levels from launch.

Skoda has revealed pricing and specifications for its new Scala, which is replacing the outgoing Rapid.

Based on Volkswagen Group’s MQB A0 platform, the Scala comes with three power units and three trim options – with prices starting from £16,595.

Available in S, SE and SE L, Skoda fits 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, a leather steering wheel, air conditioning, DAB radio, a 6.5-inch infotainment touchscreen and electric windows as standard.

S models also feature front assist emergency braking, lane assist, speed limiter and emergency call with services.

Mid-spec SE models come with cruise control, rear parking sensors, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an umbrella and height-adjustable passenger seat.

2019 Skoda Scala

For the top-end SE L, Skoda fits the Amundsen infotainment setup with 9.2-inch touchscreen, digital instrument display, climate control, keyless start and stop, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED rear lights, dynamic indicators and privacy glass.

Each can be fitted with one of two petrol engines – a 1.0-litre with 94bhp and 113bhp options, or a 1.5-litre 148bhp unit – or the 1.6-litre diesel unit that develops 113bhp. All engines can be paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission apart from the entry-level petrol.

Available to order from May, deliveries for the Scala will begin in the summer.
