Pricing and specs announced for new 2019 Skoda Kamiq crossover

The well-equipped model becomes Skoda’s smallest SUV.

Skoda has announced full pricing and specs for its new small crossover – the Kamiq.

The baby model sits beneath the Karoq and Kodiaq in Skoda’s range, and is a similar size and price to the new Scala hatchback, which arrived in the UK earlier in the year.

It will be offered with four engines, with the range starting with a 94bhp turbocharged 1.0-litre petrol engine alongside a more powerful version of the same engine with 113bhp.

A 148bhp 1.5-litre petrol engine will act as the punchiest variant in the line-up, though pricing is still being confirmed for this engine. A 113bhp 1.6-litre unit sits as the flagship engine.

Prices for the Kamiq start from £17,700 – making it one of the more expensive models in its sector, though it comes very well-equipped.

Entry-level S models get 16-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and a 6.5-inch touchscreen with in-built Wi-Fi. Upgrading to the mid-spec SE, which starts from £19,135, brings larger 17-inch alloys, an eight-inch touchscreen with smartphone mirroring, as well as rear parking sensors and cruise control.

Sitting at the top of the range is the SE L, which starts from an affordable £21,180. This comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, a 9.2-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation, keyless entry and blind-spot monitoring.

In the coming months, the sporty-looking Monte Carlo, which was revealed recently at the Frankfurt Motor Show, will join the line-up, too. This brings sporty styling, a panoramic sunroof and gloss black accents.

Order books the regular Kamiq are now open, with first deliveries expected in November.
