Pricing and specs for new Fiat 500X Sport announced

The sporty new grade aims to bring more than just racier looks to the Italian crossover.

Fiat has announced pricing and specs for its new 500X Sport crossover, with the model starting from £22,500.

The new trim level sits above the 500X ‘Urban Look’ and ‘Cross Look’ models and brings sportier styling and revised dynamic changes that aim to fit the billing.

Revised styling comes from 18-inch alloy wheels (19s are optional), suspension lowered by 13mm and a bodykit that comes from body coloured side skirts and wheel arches, a different rear bumper and dual chrome exhausts.

LED headlights are also fitted as standard, while grey detailing appears throughout the exterior of the car. Sport Red (pictured) is also exclusive to this trim level, too.

The sporty looks also continue inside, with Alcantara accents appearing on the steering wheel, along with aluminium pedals and half-leather seats.

While the 500X Sport is more focused towards performance-style looks, there are a few changes underneath the surface, too. These include the aforementioned lowered suspension, along with a revised steering calibration that has been adjusted with the aim of being more precise than the regular 500X. The damping has also been changed in a bid to keep the car more balanced through corners.

The 500X Sport can be ordered with two turbocharged petrol engines – a 118bhp 1.0-litre or a 148bhp 1.4-litre engines, with prices starting from £22,500.

Fiat has also announced the introduction of a new luxurious Lounge trim level on the regular 500X – a grade that proved to be popular on the pre-facelifted model. This comes with a seven-inch touchscreen, front and rear parking sensors and 16-inch alloy wheels, to name but a few features.
