The Range Rover SUV range is getting an updated line-up featuring new semi-autonomous technology and a new supercharged V6 engine. The 2017 model year Range Rover goes on sale this autumn with pricing starting at £76,350.
Like before, the Range Rover starts with the Vogue trim level and is followed by Vogue SE, Autobiography and SVAutobiography. The new flagship model for the Range Rover is the SVAutobiography Dynamic, the most powerful and luxurious version of the SUV to date.
New range-topper and V6 option
The SVAutobiography is powered by a 542bhp supercharged V8 petrol engine which can take the Range Rover from zero to 60mph in just 5.1 seconds. The handling of the SVAutobiography is more dynamic than other versions of the SUV, thanks to a tuned chassis and an 8mm lower ride height.
Other engines for the updated Range Rover range include a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 which is new to the SUV. This engine, already available in the Jaguar F-TYPE, produces 335bhp and moves the Range Rover from zero to 60mph in 7.1 seconds.
The new V6 petrol slots in between the existing 255bhp V6 diesel and the V8 in the Range Rover engine line-up.
Extra luxury kit and semi-autonomous aid
New driving assists available in the updated Range Rover line-up include lane departure warning, driver fatigue monitoring and autonomous emergency braking. The latter uses a forward facing camera to detect a risk of collision and warn the driver, initiating full emergency braking if the driver fails to respond.
Higher-spec versions of the updated Range Rover also feature adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition - which can automatically adjust the cruise control speed - and Low Traction Launch which helps the car move away on slippery surfaces.
New luxury kit includes the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with a 10-inch touchscreen display and sat-nav.
