Land Rover is updating its Discovery Sport SUV by adding more luxury and safety-related gadgets plus a new design pack.
The majority of updates Land Rover has introduced to the new Discovery Sport are focused on the car’s interior.
A car that can keep track of your belongings
One major new feature here is a Bluetooth tracking device app called Tile, which comprises of multiple small Bluetooth tags that can be attached to important items, like a phone or wallet.
Tile can detect whether these tagged items are in the car or not and if any are absent, the car will remind the driver to check they have all their essential items before driving. This app is available via software update on Android and Apple smartphones.
Other interior updates for the Discovery Sport includes an upgraded 10.2-inch touchscreen that replaces the eight-inch display previously used and is designed to be controlled more like a smartphone. A drowsiness detection system is also now standard.
Extra safety and luxury
Other new safety systems for the updated Discovery Sport include a camera-based lane assist that’ll gently steer the car back into the correct lane. Also now standard is an intelligent speed limiter that can read road signs ahead and prompt drivers to change to the current speed limit.
For the exterior, four new body colours have been added as well as a new optional Graphite Pack available for the SE and SE Tech trim models. This pack adds redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels and a black ‘Dark Atlas’ colour finish to the grille, bonnet scrip and side vents, as well as a contrasting grey roof and black mirror caps.
The updated Land Rover Discovery range is on sale now and the starting price is unchanged and therefore remains at £31,095.
