Renault launches K-ZE electric crossover

Set to go on sale next year, the all-electric model is due to go on sale in China before moving to other countries.

Renault has revealed the all-new K-ZE electric crossover, which will be going on sale next year.

Initially built for the Chinese market, Renault says that the SUV-inspired model will be making its way to other markets at a later date – potentially Europe and here in the UK.

The K-ZE includes a double charging system, meaning it can be charged by both domestic sockets and high-speed charging points.

Renault claims that the K-ZE can go 155 miles on a single charge under the NEDC cycle – which is soon being phased out. When put on the new WLTP cycle, it is likely to be quoted with a range of around 119 miles.

Fitted kit includes rear parking sensors, a rear camera and a central infotainment screen with satellite navigation and vehicle services.

“We are introducing Renault K-ZE, an affordable, urban, SUV-inspired electric model combining the best of Groupe Renault: our leadership in EV, our expertise in affordable vehicles and in forging strong partnerships.”

The French firm also announced that the Clio, Megane and Captur will be available with hybrid powertrains by 2020 when all three models go through a refresh.
