Report: Alfa Romeo to unveil two-door Giulia Sprint coupe at Geneva

Alfa Romeo will unveil a two-door coupe version of its new Giulia saloon at this year’s Geneva Motor Show, a car which will revive the historic ‘Sprint’ nameplate.

According to Australian site Motoring, the new Giulia Sprint has been designed to tackle the likes of the BMW 4 Series and Audi A5, both coupe versions of the four-door 3 Series and A4 respectively.

There will also be a Giulia Sprint Quadrifoglio version aimed squarely at the likes of the M4 and Mercedes-AMG C63 Coupe, powered by the same Ferrari-engineered V6 as the regular Giulia QV.

As well as that, the name harks back to the much-loved Alfa coupes of the 1950s and 1980s, and will mark the first four-seat coupe from Alfa Romeo since the Brera and GT were phased out in 2010.

The Giulia Sprint will ride on the exact same rear-wheel drive platform as the Giulia and will otherwise be mechanically identical save from the lack of rear doors.

There’s even rumours of a convertible version called the Giulia Spider, while reports of an upcoming Giulia Sportwagon estate to complete the range also persist.

You’ll have to wait until the Geneva Motor Show to find out more however, with this year’s show set to kick off on March 7th.
