Reservations now open for Peugeot 2008 crossover and electric e-2008

The electric version is capable of travelling 193 miles on a single charge.

Peugeot has announced that its new 2008 and e-2008 are now available to reserve ahead of customer deliveries starting in early 2020.

For the time being reservations are just being taken for the crossover in stylish GT Line trim, with these versions featuring LED front and rear lights, ambient interior and a stylish bodykit. The Active, Allure and GT trim levels will follow at a later date.

As with the new Peugeot 208, which the 2008 shares plenty in common with, this new model is offered with the choice of petrol, diesel and all-electric powertrains.

The latter is the highlight here, with the e-2008’s 50kWh battery enabling an electric range of 193 miles, while thanks to rapid charging capability, it can be charged to 80 per cent of its capacity within 30 minutes. For owners wishing to charge their home, a 7.4kW wallbox can top up the e-2008’s batteries in 7.5 hours. From April 2020, the e-2008 will be exempt from paying Benefit-in-Kind company car tax, too.

So far, Peugeot has only announced pricing for the GT Line versions, with the range costing from £26,100 for the 128bhp 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a manual gearbox, or £27,650 if you’d prefer an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

Meanwhile the 99bhp 1.5-litre diesel unit costs from £26,500, while the flagship e-2008 is priced from £32,000, which includes the government’s £3,500 electric car grant.
