Say hello to the one millionth Porsche 911

Porsche has reached a major milestone as it has produced one million examples of its 911 sports car. The German manufacturer has now revealed the car which cements this landmark achievement, and it has some unique celebratory design features.

The one millionth 911 is based on the Carrera S model, but it’s unique features make it a one-off creation and it has been commissioned for display at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. Before it settles into its permanent home at the Museum, the landmark 911 will embark on a world tour to promote the sports car’s proud history.

Many of the design elements featured on the one millionth 911 allude to the very first example of the Porsche sports car, which was built 54 years ago all the way back in 1963. Similarly to the original 911, the circular dashboard instruments are finished with a silver surround and the leather seats sport a pepita pattern.

The steering wheel comes complete with a mahogany rim and a Porsche crest styled in the same way it was back in 1964. A ‘1,000,000’ logo also appears on the exterior and interior of the car. The Irish Green paint job for the body shell is a reference to founder Ferdinand Porsche’s son Ferry, whose first 911 was coloured green.

Porsche also couldn’t resist making this unique 911 more potent than a standard Carrera S model. The engine has therefore been tuned to deliver an output of 445bhp, meaning the 0-62mph sprint time is reduced to 4.1 seconds, while the top speed is 194mph.
