Seat range 2021: What’s available?

Looking at one of Seat’s models but can’t decide which to go for? Here’s your guide to the range

Seat has always excelled at being the sportier and more youthful brand in the Volkswagen Group – famed for bringing a fun driving experience to more everyday models while still delivering great value for money.

While you might be familiar with the likes of the Ibiza and Leon, its range has expanded in more recent years, with the firm now having a range of crossovers and SUVs to choose from, along with new plug-in hybrid and EV options.

Here’s what you need to know about the Seat range…

Mii Electric – from £20,300

Kicking off Seat’s range is the Mii Electric, which is also the only EV available in the current line-up. If you’re thinking it looks familiar, it’s because the firm sold it with petrol engines for many years, before launching this new electric model in 2020.

Boasting a surprisingly generous 160-mile electric range, the Mii is also good to drive and comes with plenty of standard equipment. With a price of £20,300 (including the government grant), it’s also one of the more affordable electric cars on sale today.

Ibiza – from £17,835

One of Seat’s longest-running nameplates, the Ibiza is a fantastic supermini that rivals the likes of the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa. With a stylish design – particularly in sporty-looking FR trim levels – and plenty of standard equipment, it’s one of the more compelling cars in this class.

Thanks to a surprisingly roomy interior, it’s also an ideal option for those wanting a more compact car, but without sacrificing on interior space.

Leon – from £20,405

The Leon remains Seat’s best-selling model, and the latest generation is better than ever, with a sharp design, enjoyable driving experience and a high-tech interior that gives it a far more modern feel than before.

You can also choose it as a PHEV, with the e-Hybrid available for those looking to bring their running costs down thanks to an impressive 36-mile electric range. Charge regularly and there’s the possibility of some very affordable running costs, while low CO2 emissions make it a popular company car thanks to reduced tax rates.

Leon Estate – from £21,555

If you like the Leon, but reckon it’s just not quite practical enough for you, an ideal option is the Leon Estate, which is now the only tourer in the brand’s range. Retaining the same sharp styling – including a full-width LED light bar – it’s one of the best-looking cars in its segment, while sharing all the same great attributes as the standard hatchback.

That stretched design also makes the Estate far more practical, too, with its large 620-litre boot offering acres more space than the regular five-door hatchback. It’s available as a plug-in hybrid, too.

Arona – from £20,110

The most affordable of Seat’s SUVs, the Arona shares underpinnings with the Ibiza, but offers a roomier interior and the popular rugged styling that’s in-demand with buyers. If you like the idea of an SUV, but without the associated high running costs, this model is a great choice.

Like the Ibiza, it’s also one of the better cars to drive in this class, while getting a long list of standard equipment included, too. Higher-spec cars also get all manner of luxuries, including digital dials and self-parking functionality.

Ateca – from £24,110

If you want something a bit larger than the Arona, the Ateca is a fantastic choice and has proven a big hit with families – not least thanks to its especially roomy interior for a car of this size. It sits in the same category as the popular Nissan Qashqai, but represents better value for money and far more enjoyable to drive, too.

The Ateca was also recently updated, with Seat introducing a more modern front-end design, additional safety technology and the inclusion of the more rugged-looking Xperience trim levels.

Tarraco – from £29,155

Sitting at the top of Seat’s range is the Tarraco – the latest entry to its SUV line-up, and also the only new model from the firm that you can have with seven seats. It’s an ideal large family SUV, while still representing great value for money with its sub-£30,000 starting price.

Despite its size, though, it retains all the same traits as the brand’s other cars, being better to drive than you’d expect a large SUV to be, while still having a more youthful design, too.
