Spanish brand Seat has continued its record-setting run in 2018 by posting 5,680 sales last month in the UK – an all-time high for any July.
That figure represents a 36.4 per cent increase over July last year and a 0.9 per cent increase on the month’s market share, now set at 3.5 per cent.
This is the seventh month in a row that Seat has set a sales record, with the brand posting 41,594 sales in the UK since the start of 2018 – 23.5 per cent up over the same period last year.
Not only has the firm seen a lot of success in the UK, it also continues to be successful around the world, with global sales now at 342,700 units between January and July this year – 20.1 per cent up on the same period in 2017.
For July alone, Seat’s global sales were 52,700, which is a huge increase over the same month last year which saw 38,900 cars sold.
Richard Harrison, Seat UK managing director, said: “Seat UK’s seventh consecutive sales record – despite the UK car market still in overall decline year-to-date – is yet another exceptional result by all the team here at head office, as well as our dealer network, that firmly establishes us as the UK’s fastest growing volume car brand.
“With the upcoming launches of Tarraco SUV and Cupra Ateca yet to come, it looks like a great 2018 for Seat UK.”
