Should I buy a Peugeot?

The French brand has one of the widest choices in the current market. We take a look at what models are on offer

Ranging from city cars up to large family SUVs, Peugeot has vehicles in every important segment to provide stylish and compelling options.

With funky looks and quality equipment throughout, it’s easy to see why the French brand is so popular. We take a brief look at each of them now.

108

This is the baby of the line-up and is more than suitable for the city. Despite being around for quite a while now, the 108 continues to be popular with new drivers, thanks to the Just Add Fuel scheme that covers insurance, car tax and other relevant driving costs. Coming with a simple interior layout that can be centred around a seven-inch touchscreen, this is a great introduction to motoring. Prices start from £9,504.

208

Coming with the stylish i-Cockpit interior design, the 208 has some of the best equipment on offer for a small hatchback. The sporty interior design mirrors that of the outside, as the 208 comes with a cool look that features signature lights and a wide range of stand-out colours. It’s also very practical for its size, making this a great small hatchback for many. It’s priced from £14,654.

308

Moving into the large hatchback segment, we have the 308 – which is a rival for the likes of the Ford Focus and Kia Ceed. As with the smaller 208, the i-Cockpit design means a more involved and sporty driving experience. Available in hatchback, SW estate and GTi guises, the 308 is a capable car that is comfortable to drive and very practical for its size – while also looking great. Prices start from £19,644.

508

As the latest addition to the Peugeot line-up, the 508 is the most advanced offering currently available. Made in both saloon and SW estate form, the 508 is one of the best-looking models in its segment and includes a driver-centric cabin with modern styling and high-end equipment. It also comes with excellent handling as well as a stable chassis for a high-end driving feel wherever you go, and is available from £25,039.

2008

This is the smallest SUV available from the French brand, and it comes with many of the same features as the similarly sized 208. With the i-Cockpit set-up, the 2008 features the same sporty driving arrangement as many of its fellow models, such as the slimline dials and seven-inch touchscreen. But the additional ride height means a more commanding driving position and excellent all-round visibility. Prices start from £17,424.

3008

Taking the middle ground in the SUV line-up, the 3008 strikes an excellent balance between practicality and compact styling. With the sporty interior design, it never feels like you’re behind the wheel of a car of this size, and with 591 litres of space on offer, capacity doesn’t come at a premium. As it was only released in 2017, quality technology isn’t in short supply either. It’s priced from £24,109.

5008

This is the largest SUV available from Peugeot, and with it comes seven seats, a large boot (when the rearmost seats aren’t in use) and the possibility of adding a fold-up bike as well. It also comes with the excellent i-Cockpit layout that features large digital infotainment and instrument displays that blend in perfectly with the modern design. Prices for the 5008 start from £26,259.

Rifter

Although it looks like a van, the Rifter is an incredibly spacious MPV that has up to a scarcely believable 3,500 litres of storage. Available in standard and long-wheelbase options, it features up to seven seats and many storage spaces for everything your family might need to take with it. Unlike chassis mates the Citroen Berlingo and Vauxhall Combo Life, the Rifter comes with a sporty interior cockpit that makes it feel involving to drive. Prices start from £19,689.
