Skoda adds extra style to Octavia range with new SportLine model

The SportLine brings vRS styling cues at a more affordable price

Skoda has revealed a new SportLine grade for its popular Octavia, bringing bolder styling to hatchback and estate model.

The grade has been used on multiple previous Octavia generations – as well as on the current Skoda Superb and Kodiaq models – and now makes its way onto this latest family car.

It brings sportier styling thanks to a range of black accents, alongside a new front spoiler, rear wing (hatchback models only) and more prominent rear diffuser. A large set of 18-inch alloy wheels are also fitted.

Inside, the Octavia SportLine benefits from sports seats with integrated headrests, along with ‘breathable’ microfibre seats. Piano Black interior inserts are also included, while the instrument panel is wrapped in fabric.

While bringing vRS-like styling, the SportLine is available with the same range of petrol and diesel engines as the standard Octavia – with a range of options available. Skoda will also offer a plug-in hybrid version, too, which combines a 1.4-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and battery for a combined 201bhp It should be capable of around 40 miles on electricity, too.

While the SportLine brings no real sporty mechanical changes, it can be specified with Dynamic Chassis Control, which allows you to change the vehicle’s settings for either sportiness and comfort.

The Octavia SportLine is set to arrive in showrooms later this year, with prices likely to start from around £27,000.
