For the smaller Karoq, the unit can be fitted to the SportLine model, which starts from £31,820 with this engine. On-board the mid-sized SUV, the TSI motor can get the Karoq from 0-60mph in 6.8 seconds – meaning it is the fastest Karoq available.

Skoda claims that the Karoq with the unit can achieve between 33.1 and 33.2mpg on the WLTP cycle and emit 158g/km CO2.

The Czech brand offers the unit on five Kodiaq trim levels – SE L, Scout, SportLine, Edition and L&K – and when fitted to the large SUV, the engine can get the car from 0-60mph in 7.5 seconds.
