Skoda announces prices for new Kodiaq vRS

Sporty SUV switches from diesel to petrol power

Skoda has announced that its updated sporty Kodiaq vRS is priced from £44,635.

The more powerful version of Skoda’s large seven-seat SUV was first introduced in 2018, with a 2.0-litre biturbo diesel engine being found under the bonnet. However, as part of range-wide updates on the Kodiaq, the VRS model now gains a new 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol. Producing 242bhp, it gets a 6bhp boost compared to its predecessor, and with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox and four-wheel-drive, is capable of reaching 0-60mph in just 6.4 seconds.

Skoda says that due to its vast interior ‘the entire family can travel with space to spare’, with all versions coming with seven seats and a boot measuring up to 2,005 litres with second and third rows folded flat.

To separate it from the rest of the Kodiaq line-up, the vRS gets sportier styling thanks to revised bumpers, black styling accents and 20-inch alloy wheels with red brake callipers. Inside, it also benefits from black microsuede sports seats with contrast red stitching, as well as a sports multi-function steering wheel.

Dynamic chassis control is also fitted as standard, which lets drivers adapt the suspension with Comfort, Normal and Sport mode. Swapping between these modes also changes the amount of steering weight available.

With the vRS heading up the Kodiaq range, it also gets plenty of other standard equipment, including Matrix LED headlights, digital dials and rear parking sensors.

The new Skoda Kodiaq vRS is available to order now.
