The success for Skoda continues in 2018, with the Czech brand now announcing it has posted its most successful August ever.
Skoda posted 91,800 sales last month, which is 6.6 per cent up on the same month in 2017 that saw 86,100 cars sold.
Only one major market – Central Europe – saw a fall in vehicle sales, with Western and Eastern Europe, Russia and China all seeing an increase in customer interest.
Russia and China saw the largest hike in vehicles bought, with each posting 33.5 per cent and 11.5 per cent rises respectively.
The Octavia hatchback remains the brand’s most popular car with 26,500 sales globally, while the Rapid (15,000) and Fabia (14,800) were second and third in the manufacturer’s rankings.

Alain Favey, board member for sales and marketing at Skoda, said: “Thanks to the strong performance of our compact Karoq SUV, our growth course has been reaffirmed.
The successful launch of the modernised Fabia also made a significant contribution to the best August in the company’s history. The Kodiaq vRS, and Karoq Scout and Sportline models, which will soon be complementing our range, will give us an extra boost.”
