Skoda has announced a series of changes to its popular Karoq and Kodiaq models.
Following in from new Skodas – such as the Scala, Kamiq and facelifted Superb – the Czech firm has introduced its new brand lettering to spell out the brand name at the rear of the car on the Karoq and Kodiaq. This means that no longer is there a Skoda logo, but rather lettering spelling out the brand name. The feature will also be seen on the Octavia, Fabia and Citigo in time, too, as part of the brand’s new policy.
But aside from this, the key changes come to equipment and technology offerings.
Side Assist technology replaces blind-spot monitoring, with this optional feature increasing the distance it can sense objects from behind from 20m to 70m. The warning is now far more visible than before. This feature is also able to warn the driver of approaching dangers when reversing out of a parking space.

Further features offered on the new models include a developed keyless entry system that features a motion sensor to minimise the chance of keyless theft. It features a transmitter that turns off 15 minutes after the key has stopped mover – if it’s in a drawer, for example.
Dynamic Chassis Control – an optional feature that can change the vehicle’s ride settings – used to be a feature purely available on all-wheel-drive models but will now be offered on front-wheel-drive versions, too.
Fresh 20-inch alloy wheels are now offered on top-spec Kodiaqs, too, while Karoq buyers will soon be able to have their mid-size crossover with a new 187bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine. This engine is one of the more popular choices in the Kodiaq already.
No on sale date has yet been given but expect a slight price increase over the outgoing models.
