Skoda Karoq Scout revealed before Paris debut

Much like other models in the brand’s range, the Karoq is getting the Scout treatment that adds all-wheel drive and more rugged features.

Before its public debut at the 2018 Paris Motor Show, Skoda has revealed the latest addition to the Karoq SUV range – the Scout.

Joining the Octavia and Kodiaq, the Karoq mid-sized SUV is the next Skoda model to get the Scout treatment, which angles the car’s design and performance towards going off the beaten track.

Skoda has added cladding around the bottom edge as protection for going off-road, with chrome and silver elements fitted both bumpers and the side sills, while plastic bodywork added to the wheel arches.

It also comes with exclusive 19-inch alloy wheels, tinted windows and Scout logos on the exterior, while interior kit includes black/brown upholstered seats, a leather multifunction steering wheel, stainless steel pedals and LED ambient lighting.

The Karoq Scout is fitted with a Virtual Cockpit display in the instrument binnacle that can display media and driving information.

Customers can choose from three engine options – one petrol and two diesels. The 1.5-litre petrol produces 148bhp and is paired to a seven-speed auto, while the 2.0-litre diesel comes in two states of tune – a 148bhp option with a six-speed manual or a 188bhp unit with a seven-speed auto. Four-wheel drive is a standard feature with the car.

The Karoq Scout will be publicly revealed at the 2018 Paris Motor Show in October.
