Skoda records best February sales result ever

Across the brand’s Eurasian markets, deliveries were up by 14.3 per cent over February last year.

Czech car manufacturer Skoda has posted its best ever February yet, with sales up by 14.3 per cent over the same month in 2017.

Across its 100 markets, Skoda delivered 92,800 units to customers – with China (30.6 per cent), Germany (17.6 per cent) and Russia (38.6 per cent) home to some of the largest increases in sales.

For Western Europe, figures were up by 10.2 per cent with 38,300 units sold, while in central Europe Skoda sold 18,400 vehicles – 6.1 per cent more than during the same month last year.

Alain Favey, Skoda board member for sales and marketing, said: "Skoda’s growth continues with another record month. Demand for the Karoq and Kodiaq continues to increase, making our young SUV range a key pillar of our success.

"Our new, attractive models will provide us with fresh growth impetus, setting the stage for a successful future."

2018 Skoda Octavia family hatchback

The Octavia family hatchback continues to be the brand’s most popular model with 31,800 sales last month, while the Fabia (16,400), Rapid (14,500) and Superb (11,300) were the next most popular models.

The SUV models – the Kodiaq and Karoq – also saw promising sales results, with the large Kodiaq receiving 10,200 orders and Skoda selling 4,700 units of the recently released Karoq compact SUV.
