Skoda Yeti Monte Carlo adds three new variants

Demand for the Skoda Yeti Monte Carlo is so strong right now that the special edition crossover is getting new engines for customers to choose.

Skoda is offering more choice for car buyers interested in its Yeti Monte Carlo by adding three new variants and two extra engines for the special edition crossover.

First launched back in the summer of 2014, the Monte Carlo stands out next to other Yeti models with its unique red and black contrasting paint job and sportier styling features for the cabin. Up until now, the Skoda Yeti Monte Carlo has used a 2.0-litre turbodiesel with 148bhp.

Skoda now says that the strong popularity of its Monte Carlo model has prompted the company to offer more engines for this special edition Yeti.

Now available in the Monte Carlo’s range is a 1.2-litre TSI petrol unit and a 2.0-litre diesel both producing 109bhp. The new diesel is mated with a five-speed manual gearbox while the petrol engine can use either a six-speed manual ‘box or a seven-speed automatic Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG).

All of these new specifications for the Yeti Monte Carlo use front-wheel drive, unlike the 148bhp diesel versions that use four-wheel drive.

Regardless of engine choice, the Skoda Yeti Monte Carlo still comes generously equipped with equipment. Highlights include the 17-inch gloss black alloy wheels, a leather multifunction steering wheel and sports seats with Monte Carlo upholstery.

Pricing for the updated Yeti Monte Carlo range starts at £19,700 for the 1.2-litre TSI, or £20,800 when using the optional DSG. The new 109bhp diesel model starts at £21,045 while the 148bhp turbodiesel version currently starts at £24,385.
